Welling focuses on playability for renovation of Byrd design at Atlanta CC

Atlanta Country Club in Georgia has reopened its golf course following a renovation by Beau Welling Design.

The Willard Byrd layout first opened in 1956 and went on to host the inaugural Players Championship in 1974 and the Atlanta Classic on the PGA Tour between 1967 and 1996.

The recent renovation, led by Welling and his senior designer Scott Benson, is the first major project on the course and includes significant infrastructure updates and design alterations. Welling’s brief was to increase playability and foster a communal golfing experience.

LYME/OLD LYME, CT – The Towns of Old Lyme and Lyme will host Public Information Sessions on Monday, March 25, and Wednesday, March 27. Both sessions will be presented by the Lymes’ Senior Center Building Committee and cover the status of the Lymes’ Senior Center renovation and a request for an additional appropriation of $880,000 in total—$660,000 from Old Lyme and $220,000 from Lyme—from the two towns.

Slippery Rock University board seeks $98 million for building renovations, approves student fee increases

Trustees at Slippery Rock University voted Friday to pursue $98 million for renovations to three prominent but aging campus buildings, including Murrow Field House, built in 1959.

They also approved student fee increases totaling about $270 for the 2024-25 academic year.

Both actions were among those taken as the university’s Council of Trustees held its quarterly meeting on campus.

On the renovation and restoration front, trustees agreed to ask the State System of Higher Education to add all three building projects to its capital budget so work can be pursued in the coming years.

Brooklyn Couple Colorfully Renovates Townhouse on a Budget

As Giovanni Botta and Amanda Pinegar began planning their renovation of the house they bought in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn, they knew one thing for sure: The kitchen would have to be pink.

Renovation slated for Confederation Center of the Arts in PEI

CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI—Confederation Center of the Arts in Charlottetown will be revitalized to reduce the facility’s energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

The federal and provincial governments are providing a combined investment of more than $47 million for the project.

The renovations consist of upgrades to the heating, ventilation, air conditioning system, the installation of windows, insulation, lighting and meters and control equipment and new solar panels will also be installed. The interior will be reconfigured using mass timber for energy efficiency and lower carbon emissions.

The project will create greener spaces for programming and learning opportunities.
